Prayer

What is the best form of prayer? What works for you? Repetitious, meditation, speaking one on on in your mind, being silent in nature, group praises, reading your holy book etc.

Personally, I like to pray on my own after I have read the bible and done my devotionals, after I like to play some worship music. I also enjoy praying with others as I know this is a stronger form of prayer.

When I pray it's usually speaking one on one in my mind. I just like it best Smile

If I Adore You
~

If I adore You out of fear of Hell, burn me in Hell!
If I adore you out of desire for Paradise,
Lock me out of Paradise.
But if I adore you for Yourself alone,
Do not deny to me Your eternal beauty.

by Rabia al Basri (A Sufi Poet)

...I try not to wish anything for myself while I pray.

Silence is the only true prayer.

Although i usually pray one-on-one with God (out loud, in my mind, formally, or friendly...whatever the situation calls for), what I really love is when you're in a group. Big or small, it doesn't matter. I like holding hands or wrapping arms around shoulders and just listening to somebody else pray for the whole group. Especially when it's a strong male Christian doing the praying (after all, men are supposed to be the spiritual leaders). I just love being a part of that setting. You can really feel God working through it, you know?
