There are in fact four very significant stumblingblocks in the way of grasping the truth, which hinder every man however learned, and scarcely allow anyone to win a clear title to wisdom, namely, the example of weak and unworthy authority, longstanding custom, the feeling of the ignorant crowd, and the hiding of our own ignorance while making a display of our apparent knowledge. (Roger Bacon)
I couldn't have said it more perfectly. We will not satisfy our parents 100% all of the time. Neither will they us. Real parents will understand this. Most anyone can be a parent, but it takes special people to be a mom and dad.
Mine always told me, be proud of who you are and never hurt anyone intentionally, only you will feel the hurt in the end.

They just taught me a lot of unuseful rubbish, Im glad I didnt take them seriously, parents are rarely right about anything. What worked in the 40's simply doesnt work today.

They also taught me to not trust people

i learned a lot of things from my parents but where could i start? there are so many things i learned, there's a lot of things i continue to learn from them. like for example, they taught me to love others, even if they might hurt you and hate you. it's hard to do, and i guess there's been very few times i failed, but i'm doing my best. and i'll keep on doing my best.

they've tought me soo many things, i can't even count them. they've 'shaped' me into the person i am today, and i'm really lucky to have my parents. Los Quiero Muchooo!
My mum taught me lots of things. For one, to be myself, and all around trying to be a decent person. She's an awesome mum who taught me lots of things, too many to think of - but she also let me make my own mistakes and discover and learn things for myself. My father taught me nothing, except for how to be a shit.
