Who is next Governor/Policeman of world?
We see that USA is playing the role of Governor/Policeman of world now. Most of things happens according to his will. And we think next Governor/Policeman of world is China, coz I see their trade power, and new technology power and in many various way they have come to good position and in the near future they will Over take the USA in most sections. But the question is like small countries like us, why powerful countries try to control our countries by their trade power & money?

The economic anarchy of capitalist society as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of the evil. We see before us a huge community of producers the members of which are unceasingly striving to deprive each other of the fruits of their collective labour. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
~ Albert Einstein
I doubt there is any policeman today. Do you think China or Russia really stand there with trembling knees when US says something against them?US's economic power at the moment is actually very low right now. And if China, EU, S.Arabia really want, US is bankrupt in a wink. (not that EU or others would benefit from it) Militarily, US is (one of the) most powerful countrie(s) in the world, but they do need the approval and often support of others.

You're right, not that these other countries want, so it's hardly even something to point out. If the US becomes bankrupt in a "wink," the rest of the countries are right behind it in the line for the dole. So they know they really *don't* want.
So why bring up except to make empty pointing gestures?
And by the way, China is the next superpower as long as the rest of the world doesn't mind living under a boot. I'm pretty sure they mind it.

@Deng, I believe US survived the Great Depression while annilalting Hitler & Japan forces in WWII. I wouldn't underestimate Americas' Will so easily. I'd really hate to think of paper huts and rice. Won't happen!

But then...the Americans made money out of WW2....
If the question is why, then the answer is simple: countries act moved by power. And yes, China may be the next "world policeman", judging by the present trends.

Surely if there is to be any World Policeman there can only be one man?
Arnie?
Why point it out? Because it means that US can't attack those places either. It's the same situation as the cold war, or nuclear arms race. One can't hurt the other badly without getting badly hurt. So no one is the policeman, it's the situation that regulates.
And US got over the great depression because of the war.

I think that one of the things which got america out of the depression was the revival of national faith in the future,as was expressed by mega projects such as the hoover dam..In terms of current knowledge at the time ,it couldn't be done, but they bluddy done it and the nation looked and saw it and other massive projects forging ahead ..Not men being paid to dig holes and fill them in again..And hollywood helped, every nicleodeon in the country was visually updating, and america ,the stricken giant, psychologically picked itself up ,dusted itself off,put its hat back on ,and got back to work!!!
It wwas part of it, shifty. As opposed to what garry wrote.

That wasn't what he said though. You made a definitive statement to the exclusion of all the rest.

indeed, annililalting isn't a word. But he did say that the war made the economic recovery harder, which isn't true. Both economical and psychological, the war was a blessing to US to overcome the great depression.

He is correct in his statement however. You conveniently forget...at the beginning the big war machine was NOT running. While your attempt to state one to the exclusion of all others is intentional. If you KNEW of others...it would almost appear as though this was a lie you used to make a point.

Well, the expression "policeman" is wrong here, because usually you relate something positive with the actions of a policeman. But the majority of the world population doesn't relate positive things with the USA. But nobody is bold enough to tell them so. However, the EU also tells its citizens that we should become a global player in giving orders to the rest of the world. But I can't see the difference in USA/EU giving orders because both giving quite the same ones....
