was rescuing a big bird of prey from the road - it must have been stunned by another vehicle although it looked ok - I stooped my car and put it in the back seat. I got in and drove to a small lane. I looked back at him, and he looked back at me with those amazing eyes these birds have - it looked calm. I got out and opened the back door - gently lifted it out (weighed very little, although big, like birds do) and then it took to the air and flew across the lane and perched on a fence post looking around, getting it bearings, then away it went into the forest. I know that people well into birds would have given anything to touch such a creature at close quarters so I feel lucky.
