December 20th 2007 representatives of the Lakotah Nation travelled to Washington DC and withdrew from the treaties they have held with the United States for over a hundred years, effectively declaring their independence. This was done in accordance with Article 6 of the US Constitution and the Vienna convention. Thus was born the Republic of Lakotah. Lakotah occupies a large area of the U.S. in the States of Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, South and North Daktoa and boasts a tax-free community ran country, where communities are free to govern themselves with minimal federal interference. Anybody can become a Lakotah citizen as long as they are willing to reside in Lakotah and renounce their current citizenship. New citizens need not be of native descent.
