More About Me

Firstly, I don't take myself too seriously.

Secondly, I read and write all the time. I spend a lot of my day online or on a computer. I like taking things apart and figuring out how they work. I collect a lot of things and I'm a total bibliophile. I'm a graphic design student and do a little freelance work on the side of school. I do art for commission; ie, paintings, drawings, et al.

I'm a secular humanist and kind of into Stoicism, albeit I'm not too successful a Stoic, but hell, not many are. I tend to be very eclectic in my philosophical views and they are constantly seeing revisions as I, myself, see the world in new lights from day to day.

I very much enjoy studying languages: English (my native tongue), Spanish, German, French, Latin, and frankly, just about anything else. Right now I'm focusing mostly on German. I'm not so good at French or Latin, though, but to be totally fair, I haven't exactly started studying them yet. My mother is from Argentina, so I know a little Spanish from home, but I learned most of my Spanish vocabulary in high school. That being said, my Spanish skills are still sort of low.

I'm interested in almost everything, so writing a profile is really difficult to do in a small amount of space. Maybe I can make a brief list of some of the things I like. These are the things that I really do know things about and am very interested in: writing, graphic design, singing, art history, art, film cameras, HTML, and cooking. These are things that I am very interested in and think about a lot, but I won't claim any seniority in just yet: languages and linguistics, philosophy, literature, world history, the sciences (especially cosmology/physics and genetics), and religions. And finally, the things listed here are the things I'm "interested in being interested in," or which I really want to know about, but totally... don't: ballet, the opera, musical theory, mathematics, and the great composers.

For a living, I'd like to go to school. Unfortunately, it's hard to get people to pay you to learn and nothing else, so I'd like to be a collegiate professor and author someday. That way I'd go to good schools forever and still afford to eat and get to do what I love.

I romanticize a lot of things: books, mechanical typewriters, vinyl records, film cameras, old BMW's, uh, knowledge? Did anybody notice that one? I laugh a lot with friends and read a lot alone.

I've got to stop here or you'll all know all of my secrets.
If I could be a plant...

I hope somebody would water me. Or I'd be a cactus... somewhere hot and dry.

If I could be a moviestar...

I'd be picky as hell about what movies I did and I'd probably try to get out of it- being that kind of famous would likely suck.

If I could run a country for a day...

I'd take the stickers out of the science textbooks that apologize for teaching Evolutionary theory. I guess that's sort of a waste of time, though, if I've got a whole country to control- can't go peelin' stickers out of books all day... so... I guess I'd shake a few hands and kiss a few babies. Y'know, the important stuff.

What I love to do:

read, write, draw, paint, design, collect, analyze, watch films, go for walks, drink a good coffee, smoke a nice cigarette, browse libraries and bookstores
