I just wrote a huge intro, then forgot to submit it before I went back to the main page...so it all just disappeared...!! So here goes again: Well, you can see from my age that I'm no spring chicken and that I've been around the block a few times. But don't let that stop you reading any further. I'm an outgoing character who is happy and willing to talk to almost anyone about almost anything. And I can happily chat with people of all ages. Having said that, most people think I look and act a lot younger than my real age...and I am definitley young at heart, despite the wrinkles...hehehe...! I started life as a musician in the British Army for 6 years (as a trumpet and cornet player), then moved into logistics for the next 17 years. Army life was fantastic, and my first overseas tour was in Hong Kong for two years (1976 to 1978) where I met and married my wife, Wendy, and where we had our first daughter. After I left the army in 1996 I joined the FCO (the Foreign and Commonwealth Office) until 2003, and spent three years as vice-consul in the British Consulate in Guangzhou. When I resigned from the FCO in 2002 I stayed on in Guangzhou and taught English for a while but left when the SARS outbreak became a little bit too scary for comfort. But I still have some very good friends in Guangzhou, as well as family in Hong Kong, and we try to get back there each year. Anyway, now I work in London in an organisation that deals with dentists who break the rules. So I spend a lot of my time sitting in our own court-room. So, don't let my age put you off from contacting me: I'm am a happily married guy and definitley not one of those "old men looking for a young bride" sort of men. What I love to do:
Speaking Cantonese and Mandarin, playing the trumpet, generally causing havoc in the office...hehehe
