Hey. These profiles are all the same. I've written so many that I almost get nostalgic and weepy when I sit down to start a new one. The name's Billy or Bill. I'd like to think that I'm not calculating, that I try my best not to be contrived--but I'd be lying. I'm as eager to please as the next guy; I like making friends. But one thing about me that is honestly NOT contrived is that I was born Billy, not William. Billy Dean Goehring is perhaps the most least-fitting name my parents could have possibly given me, and I kind of like that about myself. I'm a strange gay guy with a strange family living in a strange state in what most would agree to be the weirdest country on the face of the planet: America. I like music, movies, good conversation (from conspiracy to linguistics to mindless gossip), trying new things (or new places, or meeting new people), and occasionally pretending I like the taste of coffee. I'm currently a student--I'd like to do graduate work in Comparative Literature after I graduate. I love good writing; I pay attention to symbolism, ideas, characters, plotlines, etc--even when I'm just watching something vapid on TV.
