Waking up next to my partner. She drives a truck over the road and is only home on weekends. I love the times when she is able to be home for a few days and we have time for coffee in the morning followed by whatever we want to do all day. It's a joy not to feel like we have to hurry up and enjoy eachother before she goes back out on the road.

that I was going to be the "greatest success our family has ever known." Not sure they think so these days, although I guess in many ways I am very successful. Have a job I love, even though it doesn't pay a ton. I have a partner I am wildly in love with. I live in a wonderful old farmhouse with a couple of horses as my neighbors, although I rent it rather than own it. I play the guitar and write music. Maybe this year, I'll actually find my nerve and try to sell some of it. Others have always been full of praise about my music. I've just been too much of a chicken to pursue it. But, hey, it's a new year, and I'm more ready than I've ever been before. That alone feels more successful.
