Trying to plan a trip to Ireland.....Help!!!!

I am am planning a trip to Ireland (trying to at least). I really want to visit Dun Laoghaire and Wicklow Mountains National Park, but I wonder if staying in Dublin is to much of a drive. How is the traffic in Dublin? Please give me some suggestions on where to visit.

I thought this might be the best place to ask this question.
I recently got a DVD of an outdoor concert by Celtic Woman - A New Journey.
Maybe some have watched it.
My question is: Where is Slane Castle in Ireland?
I have to admit that I've never heard of it, but then I'm not a student of Irish geography and history. Has anyone ever been there? From the DVD program, it looked like a really neat place. The concert was done outdoors.
OK, one more question and then I'll post this.
What does the word Dulaman mean? In the actual type on the info paper inside the DVD the second letter "u" has the two dots over it.

Orange Order parades in Northern Ireland

Tens of thousands of Orangemen have taken part in the 12 July celebrations at 18 locations across Northern Ireland.

Several policemen were injured during rioting in Belfast and Portadown overnight.

Five people were injured when rival groups clashed at the Broadway roundabout in Belfast.

Petrol bombs, stones, bottles and other missiles were hurled at police during the violence, which police said was largely nationalist-inspired.

Two men were arrested, one remains in custody and a 26-year-old has already been charged with riotous behaviour and will appear in court later in the month.

I have a serious question for anyone there in Ireland. How did Saint Patrick's Day end up as a drunken holiday? My family on both sides of my family tree are Irish and Scottish and while we have always celebrated St Patrick's Day, it wasn't until I went to an Irish fair this past March. Someone there had submitted a poem about how he was a man of God and would be turning over "in his grave" if he knew how the day honoring him was celebrated. I never really thought of it til then. I couldn't find any conclusive answers. What do you think?
